St. Louis Food Media Forum and Photoshelter Interview

2012 St. Louis Food Media Forum

I’m really excited to announce that I’m going to be a speaker at this summer’s St. Louis Food Media Forum (July 28th to 29th, 2012). I’m going to be spending an hour on Sunday morning talking about lighting and white balance in food photography. I’m still working on the specifics of what I’m going to cover, but it’s definitely going to include lighting basics both for the casual food blogger as well as for those who want to step up their game a little without dropping a ton of cash.

Public speaking. Eeek!

And there’s more than just me if you’re interested in photography. There are going to be presentations by Corey Woodruff, Jonathan Pollack and Jennifer Silverberg, fellow St. Louis shooters who do some amazing work – I’m honored to be part of such a vibrant photography community represented at the forum.

The St. Louis Food Media Forum isn’t just about photography though. It’s a two day event covering all aspects of food media including blogging tips, how to write recipes, how to get a cookbook published, marketing strategies, and a whole lot more. There is a great list of speakers (you can see the whole list here) and lots of really cool sessions on the agenda. I think it’s going to be a really informative weekend, so if you’re interested in the arena of food, purchase tickets here.

Photoshelter Blog

In other fun news, I was interviewed by Photoshelter last week and they featured me on their blog, The Essentials of Shooting Mouthwatering Food Photography. I have been using Photoshelter as part of my workflow for years – despite some hiccups with their recent upgrade, I think they are the best solution for online photo management for professionals. If you haven’t seen what they have to offer, definitely give them a look.
